Dindin: Spinster!

Sunday, February 25, 2007

Oooppsss... I know stupid title.

A friend's friend got married.. One more name scratched off the single's list.
We (me & Judith) were invited to the wedding reception.
I felt so sorry for Judith when everyone was bombarding her with questions about when she intend to tie the knots. Thank goodness, I was not a family friend. I already have too much people telling me that I should get myself into a serious relationship and maybe I should start thinking about my future... (My married future.) Oh, please! I'm in my early 20's... Leave me alone! hahaha! Na sa calendario pa ako! hahaha!

Sayang! Akala ko ligtas na ako.. while enjoying the dessert.
Bride's best friend: And you? When do you plan to get married?
Din-Din: When I will finally find that one person that can convince me and that can make me feel it's okei to leave everything and everyone behind for him. BUT won't ask me to do so. That one person who can make me choose HIM over anything and anyone else. AND won't ask me to choose. (oh di ba?!)
Bride's best friend: Aahhhh.. Good Luck!

Hahahahahaha! Ang sama! Hehehe.

I suddenly remember that scene from Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, the one where she had a vision of her gravestone reading: "Bridget Jones: Spinster".

Ngek.

Congratulations to the newly weds!

Say "bye-bye" to Manuel.

Saturday, February 24, 2007

I'm sad. tsk.
And to what you're about to see, I'm not alone.. even the host cried!
tsk.
Seems like yung pagiging "palaaway" really pays..
sila-sila na lang ang natitira...
lahat ng "neutral" isa-isa nang "natatapon" palabas.. tsk.
Sad. So sad. Showbiz nga naman. hahaha!

p.s.
may nag-reklamo dito sa post 'ko.. ninakaw ko daw linya nya kaya....
i quote...

Naingit yata ang Italia sa pulitika ng Pilipinas.

p.s.
Please tell me this is a joke.
I think everyone of us is born to do great things in our own fields.
And if we are lucky enough to find that field before we are TOO old,
I think there we should stay.

Hannibal Rising.

As obvious as it is...
Yes, last night I watched Hannibal Rising.
Not as scary , disgusting or as suspenseful as most movie critics said it would be... I'm disappointed. tsk. hahaha!

All in all, Not a bad movie.
It's just that I think that stupid movie theater wanted to ruin our eardrums.

Kilig to the bones.

Tuesday, February 13, 2007

I, take you, to be my friend, my lover, and my partner. I will be yours in times of plenty and in times of want, in times of sickness and in times of health, in times of joy and in times of sorrow, in times of failure and in times of triumph. I promise to cherish and respect you, to care and protect you, to comfort and encourage you, and stay with you, for all eternity, 'till death do us part.

Happy ♥puso♥ everyone! =)

A clenched fist in Amsterdam.

Saturday, February 10, 2007

Night class is the most tiring thing I have ever done. Sometimes, I can't help but wonder if transfering in this class was the right thing to do. I used to be in a class where at age 20 I was already the oldest. Mostly, I had 15ers to 17ers as classmates except for two 19-year-old girls. I got tired of their petty fights, the never-ending-24/7-talk-about-their-crushes and having the police come to our school because some student hit another student for something stupid and/or childish. So, I decided to change class. In this new class, I'm not the youngest nor the oldest. I found "balance" in this class. The youngest is a 19-year-old girl who sometimes think as a 40-year-old woman while the oldest is a 56-year-old woman (who definitely looks younger!) who still knows how and when to be childish. It's tiring as hell. It's freezing cold when I go home. It takes me 2 hours to go to school and back home. And public transportation is ALWAYS late.

Then things like this happen. And I can't help but laugh out loud with them. =)
oh! And of course, learn something new.

Our lesson for today shall be called: A clenched fist in Amsterdam.
Rated 60/over. hehe.
F.Y.I.
  1. Here in Italy, ewan ko dyan sa inyo.. Amsterdam is considered as "LA città del peccato"; "THE sin city".
  2. Our english teacher is the youngest teacher we have.. she's 27-32 years young. So, don't be surprise on why we almost always end up talking about things that has nothing to do with the lesson. 1/4 (more or less) of the class is older than her.
prof (reading from the book): the heart is the size of a clenched fist.
prof: anyone know what a clenched fist is? (now, she's looking at me!)
din-din: pugno serrato (obviously, i took that from somewhere in the book!)
ale: so, cleched is pugno and fist is serrato...?
prof: no, it's the other way around.
prof: clenched is serrato and fist is pugno.
luca: aahh.. fist è il pugno? (fist is the pugno?)
prof: yes. (silence.. i think she's waiting for another question.)
then here comes luca!
luca
: i went to amsterdam last year... and i saw this sex shop (by "saw", he meant he entered the shop), and there was a fisting section.
prof: in a sexy shop?
luca: yes. in a sexy shop.
prof: what is this fisting thing?
luca: make a guess.. you're the english teacher.
silence...
luca: it's a sexual practice.
prof: is it like Sadism? (looking at luca then me.) take note: not because i'm supposed to know what fisitng is but because i'm the 2nd person who's almost good with english.
din-din: (raising my two hands, tipong hold-up! hehe) i have no idea.. maybe the person have to hit the partner in the face or something?
prof: that's what i think too.
the whole class agreed. then laughed.
prof: so, what kind of things do they sell for this fisting? boxing gloves? haha!
luca: ma noo.. (of course not!)
then he explained what fisitng is, how it is done.. and all that stuffs that i decided not to explain here (because, i found out that someone who is very maarte and will definitely spread the rumor that i'm a pervert visits this blog..) if you guys are interested just google the thing.. i'm sure you'll find something.

needless to say, we all had the same look on our faces.. the face of someone who just sucked a fresh lemon or someone who's simply in pain disgusted. hahaha.

thank luca for sleepless english class.

Secrets Revealed...?

This is sis lyka's utos. hehe.

Ok.. so I'm supposed to share 5 secrets (or more) then pass this on to 5 bloggers.

Hmmm...

hhhhhhmmmmm...

hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmm...

After almost 30 mins. (of what seemed like 2 hrs.) of thinking.. I've finally come to the conclusion that it's hard for me to think of secrets. You see, I am NOT a secretive person. I am reserved, which from my point of view is 100% different from being secretive. (I know that if you look it up in a dictionary.. it'll probably have the same meaning.) The thing is, if you ask me questions, I'll give you answers. Its only a matter of asking the right questions, to get the right answers.

But I guess I'll have to give it a try anyway. So, here it goes...
  1. SPICE UP YOUR LIFE.
    • way back in elementary 'till i was in 2 year high (i think).. i was a spice girls fan.

  2. SPANKING THE MONKEY.
    • i found out that there's a female version of "spanking the monkey", only when i was in 3rd year high, when my guy best friend made me & 2 other friends watch the american pie.

  3. I'M THE MAN AND/OR THE POK-POK.
    • i've always had more guy friends than girl friends and i was a lot more closer to my boy cousins than my girl cousins. when i was little one of my uncles enjoyed describing me as "his tomboy niece". when i entered the teenage life... i was then nicknamed "pok-pok" by girls who wanted to ask me to help them be noticed by one of my friends but realized that i WON'T because they were bitchy rude to me months ago. haha!
        • one time, back in HS, someone who thought i was trying to steal her boyfriend for one of my girl friends also called me a "langgaw", dahil tuwing nakikita daw nya ako sa labas ng classroom eh iba-ibang grupo ang kasama ko. nung una, medyo hindi ko yon na gets... i was like, "anong koneksyon ng langgaw?", then i was told na parang langgaw daw kasi palipat-lipat ng kalabaw na dinadapuan. hahaha! whatanimagination!

  4. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE A BRIDGE.
    • with the reputation of being one of the boys and a "langgaw", i was often asked, by both guys and girls, to be the ever-so-reliable "bridge" also known as the "ilakad mo naman ako kay... person". honestly, i didn't know what i was doing.. or what i was supposed to be doing.. but whatever i did... i was good at it. if i asked a dollar for every person who asked me to be the "bridge", i'll now have a round-trip ticket to the philippines and don't have to worry about the damn fare.

  5. NO FILE ATTACHED.
    • i can't think of anything else to add. and for a timely secret (♥'s day is almost here! can you smell the hormones in the air?! haha!), i guess this will do. i'm afraid of the fact of being attached (well, actually not just romantically, but any kind of attachments! hehe). i've been thru constant changes for such a long time that change is the only permanent thing in my life (kung hanggang kelan, hindi ko alam). i know this has to end but for now.. i am fine with it. the mere idea of getting comfy and in any way attached to other people/things/places makes me shiver. bbbrrrr...
Yay! That's it. These "secrets" may sound mababaw to most of you.. but as I've said.. I really have no secrets. Pinag-pawisan na ako dyan! hehe.

Now, the easy part... hehe. If you guys are not THAT busy.. I'm passing it to:

We were supposed to have our literature long (long, long, long..) test.. but it was moved to a later date (we were informed about the changes only 4 hours before the test), Our prof's dad was hospitalized.. so I just decided to stay home.. and not risk to freeze outside.
