There's Something About The Eyes.

Thursday, September 01, 2011

Eyes don't lie. At least, those eyes I've seen never did.

Usually, I can tell when people are really in love, or at least happy in the relationship they are in. Because eyes don't lie. You see, when people are in love, there's a spark in their eyes. Their eyes glow. And even if they try to hide it, the happiness just shows.

[Just this Sunday one of my friends proved me right, again. Her eyes were smiling and glowing. There was no way to hide how happy she was. Hehehe.] :-)

And this brings me back to the point of this post.

I want to tell you, I don't see the spark in your eyes. And so far, no one does (at least, none of the people I know). And it's sad, because you've waited so long to finally be with someone, that it would be a sin to get stuck in a relationship with someone you only think you are in love with, when you could be out there with the person you are meant to be happy with.

Some times, some people just want to be with someone so bad, they stop really caring who the person they are with is. Just like how some times, some people want to fall in love so bad, they end up convincing theirselves they are in love even if they're not. They don't realize that most of the time, they are just in love with the idea of being in love, and then they miss out on all the best part and things of really being in love with your partner.

Please, don't spend your time being with someone you are not in love with, and who is not in love with you, either. Don't spend your time with someone you don't see yourself starting a family, waking up, sleeping, and spending the rest of your life with. It's not worth it, because you could, and should, be spending your time with the person you are meant to be with.

The rest of your life starts the moment you realize and feel who you are meant to be with. Start the rest of your life as soon as you can. Make it happen. Don't be trapped.

We don't think you're happy, and we want you to be. I want you to be happy.

But then again, who am I to know.

Bad Publicity Is Still Publicity.. Not.

Wednesday, December 08, 2010

After some days that the Wife vs. Mistress video went viral, I think "The mistress-beater", E.R.T., finally came to a point where she regrets what she did, or at least, filming and posting what she did on the internet.

As of last night the husband's, the other woman's, and her Facebook profile have been deactivated.

Sometimes, I can't help but think na baka may balak mag-artista mga 'to! I mean, di ba, sinong nanunugod (sp?) na ready ang video camera? :-/

Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned.

Tuesday, December 07, 2010

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. I tell you, this saying is so true.

Last night, a video of a mistress who was beaten up by the wife in a mall, started showing up on my Facebook feed. I watched the video and it was crazy. Seriously. I was scared for the girl and her friends.

I knew that sooner or later the video will either be removed, blocked, or something else, but I was sure it will disappear. And yes, I have a copy of that video saved on my computer, in case you are wondering, hehehe.

Fury

As much as I understand the wife, I totally disapprove what she did. I mean, c'mon! Why stoop down to her level? And why in public?! If I were the wife, and if I were to beat the hell out of someone, it would have been my husband. Because, with all honesty, I wouldn't care if the mistress is single, married, or whatever. I wouldn't care who the hell she is, just like she wouldn't care who the hell I am, unless of course, we personally know each other, because otherwise, we are just strangers sharing a man. (Hahaha.)

The truth is, I would never do anything like that. And definitely not in public. And I'm madamot when it comes to romantic relationships, bawal may kahati. Unless we know each other, you can do whatever the hell you want to do. Agawin mo lahat ng gusto mong agawin, and I wouldn't care. Ang pro-problemahin (aawayin? hehehe) ko eh yung nagpa-agaw. If I were in the wife's shoes, I would have acted differently. Ayaw ko ng mga agaw-eksena, at mala-telenovela na drama. If I were her, I would just throw him out of the house. No drama, no pulling of hair, and no cursing, and everything will definitely happen in private. No videos or photos to share on the internet. :-P

Oh well.

Jog Barefoot And Sushi.

Thursday, August 12, 2010

For the past couple of days, every morning, while I wait for the bus, I see this man jogging.

Jog

Nothing strange, right? Wrong. I don't know why, and I don't have the guts to ask, but he jogs barefoot.

Jog2

Anyway, because I always feel jealous everytime friends (most of the time, Em) post pictures of them having sushi, and because I started to crave for it... I had this for dinner yesternight. Yum.

Sushi

Though I still can't bring myself to enjoy the Salmon roe (or whatever the hell you call it) sushi.

Blech.

Good night! :-)

Election Fever.

Thursday, May 06, 2010

Premise: I don't think that people who'll go Yellow on the 10th don't think. (No pun intended.)

As much as I respect everyone's opinion, and though I still don't have the right nor the privilege to vote (Who else thinks that me being 25 and still haven't got the chance/right to vote once is just plain ridiculous?! Shucks, ano ba?!!), may I ask everyone to please don't let Noynoy Aquino be the next president of our beloved Philippines. Seriously.

Vote wisely!

Vote for the person who you believe in. Don't waste your vote, as long as you vote for the person who you really think deserves to lead the country, win or lose, your vote won't be wasted. There are people, like me, who terribly wish we can vote but can't.

I am deeply saddened by how some people think that their vote (or not voting) could not affect the results of the election. It's not just ONE vote, it's so much more than that.

Last Sunday we went to Piacenza with a whole bunch of other Pinoys, as in a whole bus of Pinoys, I asked them if they're voting, almost 75-80% of them said "no", I asked them why, and they said "Hindi naman ako naka-rehistro eh" (Not a registered voter). Shit! Ano ba?! If they weren't all older than I am, I would have said, "'Bat di ka nagpa-rehistro?!" Why do most OFWs think this election won't affect them just because they live abroad? And why is the Consulate being such a pain, on almost everything that has to be done in their office?!

Go out and vote!

There are 2 ways to waste your vote: (1) is to not vote; and (2) is voting for someone just because surveys say he'll win. The moment you vote for that person is the exact same moment you'll waste your vote. Please vote wisely, don't use too much of your heart in deciding who should be the next president of our country.

Thank you.

Please read also:
Chuvaness.com - Forget the surveys - http://chuvaness.livejournal.com/867006.html

P.S.
If you're asking who I would vote for.. Well, if I had the right, and the privilege I'd probably vote for either Richard Gordon, Manny Villar, or Gibo Teodoro, in that order.

On August 12, 2009, Rev, my almost 9-year-old cousin, and I decided to spend the afternoon at Fnac. While my cousin spent 2 hours at the video games section, I was a floor higher where the books are.

And this is what I found:

Francis M., 1964-2009

Friday, March 06, 2009

They say, "The good dies young".

The last time I cried for the death of someone I don't personally know was when Pope John Paul II passed away. When I checked my email I thought it was one of those stupid forwarded emails that circulated months ago, then Ate Xara's SMS arrived. Biglang ang bigat ng pakiramdam ko. You know how some people are capable of entering your life, your heart without you having the pleasure of personally knowing them? Francis M. was one of those people. I know that some people don't get it. They'll ask me why I would feel so sad for someone I don't personally know. Just like when 2 vocalist left their former band 2 years ago. Someone told me I was OA, I was also called mababaw. But it's okei, I think it's good that I am capable of feeling this much affection towards other people, even for people I don't personally know.

Please send prayers especially for Francis M.'s family and friends, they need it more than Francis M. does right now.

I wasn't able to attend mass, but I lit a candle for him. Years ago when Lolo passed away, someone told me to light a candle for him, I don't know why but I like to think that it'll help his soul find its way to heaven. So, that's what I did when Pope John Paul II and Papà died, and that's what I do on their death anniversaries. That's what I also do when someone I know tells me that someone he knows passed away. If you can, please light a candle for Francis M. too.

Francis M. is a big lost not only to his family, friends, and the show business, but also to the whole nation. His legacy will live on. May he rest in peace.

"The family of the late Francis Magalona requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Philippine National Red Cross.

A viewing of the body will be announced to the public, but for now, only family and friends will be invited to go to the wake. For more information on how to help the Red Cross, please follow this link."

Eat Nothing But Chocolate.

Saturday, June 14, 2008

I love chocolates.

Once, for almost 2 months lunch was:

3 bars of Kinder Maxi

and 3 glasses of Bravo (Rauch).

No one told me anything, because no one contradicts or tell you that you're doing something wrong when you've just lost your father. I knew it was wrong, but, at that time, I didn't want to stop doing it.

Anyway, ang scary nito...

"A 12-year-old girl has eaten almost nothing but chocolate all her life because she is so frightened of trying new foods.

Rebecca Scowcroft, from Bolton, eats 15 squares of cooking chocolate and 10 chocolate fingers every morning while her family opt for a more conventional breakfast of toast, eggs and cereal.

The schoolgirl, who is in perfectly good health, eats the same for lunch and Rice Krispies for dinner - but only if they are mixed in bowl of melted chocolate.

Rebecca suffers from a condition known as extreme food phobia, which doctors estimate affects at least one child in every school in Britain."

Thank you kind reader.

Friday, March 21, 2008

If you've been online for at least a year (if you're malas, as early as your 2nd month), surely, sooner or later you will have someone (or some people) hating on you. It doesn't really matter if you're blogging, chatting, or merely joined a social networking site. I remember pa nga na someone got into "serious" fighting at YouTube, kamusta naman 'yon? If you're online, you risk. Some people kasi, all they do is look for "things" where they can (make) leave their ugly comments on.

As long as the "hater" do not go overboard, kahit na he's hiding behind anonymity, I am okei with that. Freedom of speech nga eh, di ba? Some times naman kasi, the "commenter" gives you the opportunity to explain yourself (and what you said), and eventually you'll have a healthy conversation with them. And, sabi nga, "you can't please everybody all the time", someone will always find some thing wrong. Sana nga lang kahit na they're hating on you, they'll still respect you and the people surrounding you. It doesn't mean naman kasi na just because they hate you, you're less human than they are.

It was a lazy morning (and I don't really know why, but I was convinced that today's the 20th. weird. I had to check the calendar thrice), I woke up at 7.30, saw the clock and went back to sleep. I got up at 10.30 because a friend sent me an SMS telling me to check my inbox because she e-mailed me some pictures and wanted me to check them out. In my years of being online, I can only remember people "hating" me on 2 occasions. When I see names that I find strange with no subject, I usually just delete them. I started to feel heavy and said aloud, "ay, ang aga naman nito", when I saw an unfamiliar name with "Kiamoy" as the subject of the e-mail, in my inbox, thinking that it was one of those people who don't like me. I even giggled and thought, "ano naman kayang problema nito sa Kiamoy?", hehehe.

To my surprise....

Dear Dindin,

Hi. I hope you are doing ok. I don't know what made me write an email and send it to you. Maybe because I miss my sister more than ever and she likes eating sampaloc candies too. You don't know me, but I've been reading your blog for at least a year and a half now. You remind me so much of my sister, I now have an idea of how she will be when she turns 20, she's 15 right now. I miss her so much. Our parents are separated and she lives with my mom, so I rarely see her. Your blog makes me miss her less kasi medyo similar kayo, the way you think, the way you interact with people... kahit na hindi mo sila kilala and how you became friends with them. Basta.

[...]

I love the conversations you have and had with your father, your family and your friends. With your posts - you make me cry, you make me laugh, and make me smile. And I want to thank you for that.

Anyway, do you really want kiamoy and sampaloc candies? If yes, I can send you some, kaya lang I'm currently out of the country, I'll be back in the Philippines by April 15, and can send you the package before April 20. It's the least I can do for the joy that you bring in me. Let me know if you want me to send you some.

Sometimes, you do things just because you want to do them. It's not always necessary to know the reason why you do things. If you don't know the reason on why you do some things but you love to do them and you're not taking advantage or not stepping on anyone's toe, just continue doing them. The fact that you don't know the reason doesn't mean that other people don't either.

Thank you kind reader, I am moved. You made my day. =)

I Knew I Loved You... (Before I Met You).

Friday, March 14, 2008

I'm almost sure that I first heard Savage Garden back when I was in grade school, I instantly fell in love with them, their songs actually. And I still "do" like them.

"Truly Madly Deeply" was the first.

I'll be your dream,
I'll be your wish,
I'll be your fantasy.

I'll be your hope,
I'll be your love,
Be everything that you need.

I love you more with every breath
Truly Madly Deeply do.
(Don't you just love that "do"? Sing it with me, "Truly Madly Deeply do...")

I will be strong, I will be faithful,
'Cos I'm counting on a new beginning.
A reason for living.
A deeper meaning.

Tapos there was "I Want You" (definitely not my favourite), "To The Moon And Back", "Break Me, Shake Me".

Then, came "I Knew I Loved You".
(Until 2001, I had no idea na si Kirsten Dunst pala yung girl sa video! At times, I'm such a dork! Hahaha!)

Back then, everyone I knew was telling (more like convincing) me that this song's a love song and I totally agreed, it IS a love song, it's just that, for me, it's more of an UNromantic love song. I don't know, I had a hard time agreeing on this line kasi eh: "I knew I loved you before I met you". From the first time that I heard this song, being the person that I am, I always thought (and most times, I still do) that this is a song that parents would sing/dedicate to their soon-to-be-born baby. Read the lyrics, how can you not agree with me? =D

So now, I'm dedicating this to the soon-to-be parents and soon-to-be-born babies!

Maybe it's intuition
But some things you just don't question
Like in your eyes
I see my future in an instant
And there it goes
I think I've found my best friend
I know that it might sound more than a little crazy
But I believe

I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life

There's just no rhyme or reason
Only this sense of completion
And in your eyes
I see the missing pieces
I'm searching for
I think I've found my way home

Anyway, let me get to the point of this post...

Dearest Soon-to-be-born baby of soon-to-be-mum Liliana,

This post is to attest (someday) that I did not forget that your mummy's preggy. =)
And, I'm writing this in english because your Mamma said, "My baby will speak fluent english, by hook or by crook!"

She's driving everyone crazy with her mood swings, treating everyone so bad, and accusing us of forgetting the fact that she's pregnant (I mean, how is that even possible?) and that you will hate us for that. But, it's all good. =D

This is how your mum looked like when she was younger and nicer. =p
No photos of her with the tummy, because she doesn't want us to take pictures of her with the "big tummy".

lily-stairs

lily-classroom

Good luck, Lily!!! You're due on May!!! Breathe in, breathe out... Push....
Don't worry you're going to be a great mum! =)

Can't wait for your baby boy or girl! Why don't you want to know the baby's gender anyway?

P.S.
Lily, even though you're treating everyone like shìt, we love you still!

P.P.S.
Here's Darren Hayes of Savage Garden with "So Beautiful"
. Lavett!

Powerful power.

Friday, February 29, 2008

Most of my titas who live in the Philippines are still a little paranoid about meeting people online, and I have a cousin who is was so paranoid about chatting online that when I told her I chatted with an old friend from grade school, she asked me, "sigurado ka na sya 'yon?".

I don't have problems meeting people online. I mean, ano ba talaga ang pinagka-iba meeting and exchanging numbers with someone you meet in a bar, bus stop or online? The first and last time I entered (tama ba yung term na 'yon, entered?) a chat room, MTV Asia's chat room to be exact, was 2002, and I am glad to say that after all these years I am still in contact and friends with people I met there. Some new friends I met via blogging and some via being a fanatic, haha. I know the full name, mobile number and home address of more than half of those people and they also know mine (if we don't live in an apartment house, hindi ko alam kung ibinigay ko ang home address ko, living on the 2nd floor of an old but nice building can give you that feeling of being safe kasi eh). And yes, I've met some of them in person, and have not met others only because we never had the chance to.

Now, what I'm paranoid about are text mates, and a stalker I had back in high school has nothing to do with the paranoia. Yesterday, I received a text message that reads "gandang gabi" or something like that. I checked on who the message was from, I was not surprised when I saw a couple of numbers instead of a name. Kasi hindi naman lahat ng kilala ko na alam na yung Globe number ko, naka-save na sa akin yung number nila. When I asked who the sender was, the texter replied na na wrong send daw sya. Bigla ako napa-isip, ako na-wro-wrong send lang with people na naka-save na sa phone book ko. I mean, come on. If it was a voice call via an analog phone, maiintindihan ko pa, but a text message... Hmmm.

Someone I know (more like, someone my mum knows) is getting married before May ends. She's a single 40+ year old and he's a couple of years older (if I'm not mistaken), a father, and a widower. Nothing extraordinary. Except that they live in 2 different continents and well, they have never been together, as in they've never seen each other in person pa. They used to be text mates, and ayun, after a year, more or less, of exchanging text messages and phone calls every now and then, they fell in love and they decided to tie the knot. They're both going back to the Philippines next week, to finish and check how the wedding preparations are going, and well, to see each other for the first time. I must admit, there's something romantic about first times, but... some things I just don't get.

I have no problem with people who fall in love with their text mates, someone they met online, in a bar or at a bus stop. Seriously, I personally know people who met their partner online and one of my cousins met his ex-girlfriend online. And that's my point, meeting and having a (romantic) relationship are two different things. Being friends, falling in love, even starting a relationship, with someone you haven't touch or had an eye-to-eye moment with (and do not know how he/she smells! Heheh!), I can understand, PERO to marry or move-in with someone you haven't touch or had an eye-to-eye moment with (and, again, do not know how he/she smells!) is something my young mind can not understand. But then again, maybe my friend's right, maybe I'm just being too distrustful and still too young to understand things like this.

Too early in the morning, I didn't have the power and didn't really want to contradict my friend, so still half asleep, I just agreed on what she had to say. Taking a break from talking about her ex-boyfriend, she started to talk about, well, love.. On how she understand why people do things that others cannot and probably will never understand, things that are totally irrational. And how everything will eventually turn out well. And, according to her, how all these things are possible thanks to the power of love.

But honestly, can love really be that powerful?

P.S.
Sorry, I tend to over-analyse everything whenever I'm in this state.

Some of the things I love: Chocolates, Adidas and Photography

Wednesday, January 23, 2008

Someone phoned me this morning...

Friend: Hey, we're thinking of visiting Italy. I want to meet you na, ha?

Me: Oh, finally! After all these years mag-kikita na din tayo!

Friend: Anyway, what's your shoe size again? You love Adidas di ba? They're having a BIG sale here in a few days daw.

Me: 36 on leather boots, 38/39 on padded shoes, and 37/38 on trainers and almost everything else.

[silence...]

Friend: Ay, teka, iba na lang, di ba you love chocolates? At di ba walang Hershey's dyan?

Hhmmmm...

I often have friends who ask me to take photos of them so they could bring or send it back home. So far, Judith and Asmae are the best "models" because they love the way I take photos and they always love the outcome, which means they don't make "angal" or "reklamo".

Last week before going to school, a friend of a friend's friend (I don't even remember whose friend she was!!!) asked me to take photos of her newborn baby because they needed some pictures for the baby's Christening invitations. I'm okei with that, even if I don't know her (or her family), I'm always ready to go the extra mile naman eh, especially for a friend. And I use these favours as a time for practicing the craft that I love, so it's all good. It's a win-win situation.

Pero, if you ask me to do you this favour and you accept that we'll do it MY way (kahit alam ko it will never really be 100% MY way), I expect that you, at the least, let me say what my ideas and opinions are. Don't boss me around because I'm doing this for free, I'm the one carrying the heavy camera all the way to your place, and I'm the one doing you a favour, the least you can do is to be nice to me.

Now, if you think that the portrait I took of your baby is not decent enough for your baby's Christening invitations and you prefer the baby's mug shot, then I cannot do anything about it, to each his own, but I definitely won't let you associate my name with that mug shot you'll be putting on those invitations.

Here are my answers when I was asked:

What is photography for you?
  • It's about capturing the moment and having the chance to save and keep it for a very long time, if not for forever. It's about letting and giving people the chance to see things as I see them. I always have a camera with me and I take a photo at least once a day. Photography, for me, is a way of life.

When you take pictures, what do you think about? What are the things you give importance to when you have a camera in your hands? (this question's lousily translated to english, hehe.)
  • For me, taking photos is really about seizing the moment and the emotion(s) of the subject(s) (people, places, etc.) at a given time. I basically think about how I want and can let other people see how I see a certain subject. It's also important, for me, to make people understand and to be able to transmitt the feelings that a subject gives me. Technique is important but you must have the heart and the passion for it. (and I'm not saying that just because I don't have the technique, hehe.) Just like in any other art, your work must communicate something to your "audience".

If I'm not satisfied with the photos I took, I won't care if the clients adore the photos, I won't have them print copies and have my name associated with those photos. Kuya Joel (if my memory serves me right) said, "If you're a professional you have to satisfy your clients. So somewhat it's them who decides how you take the photos." or something like that.

And that's something I cannot bow down to, at least for now, because like what I said, I want other people to see how I see things, plus I don't really enjoy posed pictures, I love candid snapshots they're more ME. Oh well.

It's a good thing I don't do photography for a living, or I'll probably be jobless and homeless.

RIP Heath Ledger!
It's sad. He's young and so talented pa naman.

p.s.
Whenever I get the chance to be home before 11 in the evening, I usually end up with long posts. Ayun, wala lang, hehe.

Long Distance Relationships.

Wednesday, January 09, 2008

School's closed today. As usual, I stayed home. So, yeah, mental diarrhea everyone.

LDR

I'm not a fan of Long Distance Relationships, when I turned 12, I already knew, and sure, it will never work, not just for me, but for anybody. Though Papà has always told me never to say never, he also told me that our genes don't react well with long distance relationships.

When I moved back home, I was 17-18, I saw someone close to me end her relationship with a man she's been with for 7 long years and still loved, to date someone she's falling in love with (listen to Usher's U make me wanna). I'm not sure if their relationship ended because she moved here and he stayed there, I think I'll never know, all I know is that it did not end because they're falling out of love, when they say love's not enough, you have no other choice but to believe them. But, still, I've always thought (and I have a feeling that I still do) that if I find my match, and he happens to be on the other end of the world, I'll give long distance relationship a try. Yes, if giving it a try is equal to still having him in my life, I definitely will.

Pao and Phane, the two champorados!
(Pao, pahiram ako ah? Hehehe.)

Now, these two people, long time friend Stephanie and her fiancé Paolo, (talagang i-broadcast ba daw? Hehehe!) are slowly changing my credo regarding long distance relationships, they're starting to make me have faith in it. But I still don't think it's for me. Communication is not really the problem, I mean, even if there's the risk of people thinking that I actually have a relationship with my mobile phone or my laptop, communication won't be the problem. The thing is, I have carnal needs that I want and need to satisfy. I can be very a little exigent when it comes to romantic relationships. I need hugs. I need kisses. I need to hold hands. I need to cuddle. I need a shoulder where I can rest my head. I need a face to stare at, that would make me feel I'm the luckiest person in the world. I need whispers. I need "I love you", "Good Morning", "Good Night", "Take care", "I miss you", etc. I need tickles. I need someone to do cheesy things for and with. When I feel like surprising him with a breakfast in bed, I need to know that I can go to a bar near his place to buy breakfast, reheat everything in his kitchen and wake him tenderly, in less than 2 hours. I need someone whose smile would make my heart skip a beat, and I need to see that smile in the flesh, at least thrice a week. I need someone whose stare would melt me. I need the warmth. I need someone who needs me, as much as I need him.

Most of the people I know would not believe any of the carnal needs I wrote about, simply because rare are the moments that I've been showy, in front of other people (which I think is a good thing), and they know that I don't like spending every single second of my day with a boyfriend, I think, it'll ruin the relationship. A couple should spend all the time they can together, but that doesn't mean every single second of every single day. Mag-kakasawaan lang kayo, but then again, it's probably just me.

Move first.

Monday, January 07, 2008

While I think it's okei for a girl to do the first move, as long as it's "calm", unaggressive, and elegant (as in, a simple smile or a "Hi", eye contact, flirting, things like that), I still believe that the man (yep, I said man) should do the first big obvious (read: not hints or paramdam) move, syempre with all the respeto naman (they don't call you a man for nothing).

Unless you're Angelina Jolie (by the way, I assure you, you are not), do not treat the guy's girl friends with so much rudeness. That's just wrong. And a definite turn-off.

I'm no expert on these things, obviously, but I sure know that he didn't ask you to go out for a drink, hehehe.

Unbelievable, what some girls would say or do to get a guy's attention. Tsk.
